I am delighted to extend my heartfelt thanks to Kristina and the wonderful team at Barnes & Noble Sawmill for hosting my "Moon Creek" book signing event on Saturday, November 4th, 2023. It was an unforgettable experience, complete with the added joy of savoring a complimentary Starbucks coffee.
During the event, I was deeply moved by the emotional connections that transpired. Grandmothers and granddaughters, as well as mothers and daughters, visited the store together, each acquiring their copy of Moon Creek. It was a touching testament to the power of shared family experiences, nurturing bonds, and the transformative potential of reading together.
Reflecting on the significance of these moments, I couldn't help but draw parallels between the cherished Third Place concept embodied by Starbucks and the spiritual refuge that Moon Creek offers as a poetic sanctuary. It's a sacred space where we can collectively immerse ourselves in the wonders of nature, embarking on a meditative journey of self-discovery and fostering deep connections within our families.
Through the delicate verses in Moon Creek, I seek to illuminate the intricate beauty of our natural world, capturing the essence of the sun, moon, and wind as they dance with every leaf, blade of grass, and delicate blossom, in my everyday village life, not a distant place. These poems are an invitation to pause, breathe, and appreciate the simple yet profound moments that often escape our notice in the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
In these tumultuous times, with the pressing issue of climate change at the forefront of our minds, we are compelled to consider the future we leave for the generations to come on this lovely blue planet?
I look forward to sharing the serenity and wonder of Moon Creek with you and your loved ones. Join me as we delve into the transformative power of nature and poetry, forging a deeper connection with the world around us. We are all interconnected.
